Bradford – Daniel S. Daly, 93, of Bradford, beloved husband of Marie E. (Donovan) Daly, passed away Saturday, December 17 at the Merrimack Valley Hospice House in Haverhill surrounded by his loving family.Born in Haverhill, he was the son of the late, William J. and Nellie V. (McSweeney) Daly. He attended Haverhill public Schools and was a graduate of Haverhill High School, class of 1942. Upon graduation, he was employed by the B &amp M Railroad and after six months Mr. Daly enlisted into the U.S. Navy. A WWII Veteran, He served as a Pharmacist’s Mate in the Pacific Theatre. He was honorably discharged in March of 1946. Upon his return home he became a member of the Lorraine pot 29 VFW.Mr. Daly was employed as a Layout Operator at the former Western Electric, A T &amp T and retired from Lucent Technologies after thirty-one years of service. A man of strong faith, a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, he was active in his church and community. As his family grew, he coached little league, and became a Boy Scout Leader. He attended both St. James and St. John the Baptist parishes. He and his wife enjoyed dancing and day trips to local beaches, most of all, spending time with family and friends.He leaves his beloved wife of sixty-nine years, Marie E. (Donovan) Daly, of Bradford, his loving children William J. “Will” Daly, of Haverhill, Daniel S. Daly Jr., and his wife, Cheryl, of Groveland, John F. Daly, of Naples, FL, and Coleen M. Daly, of California. He is also survived by his two cherished granddaughters Veronica Daly and Christine Simard and her husband, Christopher, a great grandson, Chase Simard, and several nieces and nephews, all of whom will miss him dearly. He was predeceased by his siblings Maurice Daly and his wife Violet, Edmond Daly and his wife Lucinda, Helen Begley and her husband Michael, Doris McAvoy and her husband, John, and his son in law, Leonard Brantly Filyaw. Friends and family are respectfully invited to calling hours on Tuesday, December 20, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main St. Haverhill. Funeral services will begin Wednesday morning at 9:00 AM from the Funeral Home with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 AM at St. John the Baptist Church, 110 Lincoln Ave. Haverhill.
