David B. “Deacon” Vencis, 87

Ossipee, NH – David B. “Deacon” Vencis, 87, of Ossipee, NH, formerly Haverhill, MA, passed away April 20, 2022 at Merriman House in North Conway, NH.

Born in Haverhill, he was the son of the late Vito C. “Rip”  Vencis and Grace E. (Pettengill) Vencis  Knapp. Raised in Haverhill, he was a graduate of Haverhill Trade School Class of 1953. Deacon worked as a truck driver for Aran Transportation for many years and was on Brian Wall’s NASCAR North Team, transporting cars for races. He was a pilot and enjoyed flying airplanes and living in the North Country. Deacon enjoyed dancing and listening to country western music. He will be missed by all his family and friends.

Surviving him are his sons, Robert Vencis of Haverhill, David Mancini of CA and Dean Brady of Northwood, NH; grandchildren Stacy Small, Amber Sullivan, Melanie Vencis, David Vencis III and Catie Distefano; great grandchildren, Grady Stickney, Evan Sullivan, Isla Sullivan, Sean Sullivan, Angelina DiStefano, Vincent DiStefano III and James Brady, sisters; Kathryn “Kay” Vencis, of Plaistow, NH,  Judith Ordway and her husband Roger of Plaistow, NH and Brenda Meehan and her husband David of Kensington, NH; daughter in law Caren Vencis; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two sons, Mark and David B. Vencis Jr.
