Kingston, NH – Dennis J. Murphy, 74, husband of Eileen M. (McDonough) Murphy passed away peacefully at his home on September 8, 2016 while in the hospice care of the Rockingham VNA of Exeter, NH. Many thanks to those Angels.Born in Woburn, he was the son of the late John E. and Ruth I. (Graham) Murphy. Raised and educated in Woburn, he was a graduate of Woburn High School, Class of 1959. Upon graduation he entered the United States Army in 1960 and from 1963 to 1995 he served as a Master Sergeant in the Army Reserves. He was a devoted family man, known for his dry Irish wit and cherished time spent at home. Dennis was fond of classic cars and was a member of the “Over the Hill Gang” in Middletown, CT., where he resided for 13 years. He served as President of the Condo Homeowners Association for the past 3 years. He was a member of various breakfast clubs in Middletown, CT and Kingston, NH traveling to local diners and eateries. He loved spending time with his Boston terrier “Rocky”. He will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him.In addition to his loving wife of 52 years, he is survived by his children, David M. Murphy of Fitchburg, MA Patrick I. Murphy and his wife Nathalie of Greely, Ontario Alicia Murphy Barnes of Haverhill, MA and Amy Lisbeth Murphy and her fiancé` Kenneth Nicolson of No. Billerica, MA a sister, Marcia E. McCullough and her husband James of Woburn, MA a sister in law, Janet Murphy of Westfield, IN his grandchildren, Britney Carl and her husband Michael, Kimberly Murphy, Sarah Murphy, Zoe Barnes, Stephen Nicolson, Shawn Nicolson, Brittney Nicolson, Odette Murphy, Zelda Murphy and Napoleon Dennis Murphy two great grandchildren, Layla and Aurea. He was predeceased by his brother Robert Murphy.Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend calling hours on Monday, September 12 from 4:00PM until 7:00PM at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main Street, Haverhill. Funeral services will begin on Tuesday morning at 9:00AM from the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00AM at St. James Church, 185 Winter Street, Haverhill. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery, North Road, Kingston, NH. Memorial donations may be made in his memory to the New Hampshire Food Bank, 700 E. Industrial Park, Manchester, NH 03109.
