Donald J. Lawler, Jr., 75, passed away on January 2, 2026 at Lowell General Hospital.
Donald was born in Newburyport on April 11, 1950. He was the son of Donald and Mary (Grandmason) Lawler and was a graduate of Newburyport High School, after which he served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam and the Army National Guard for 15 years. He worked for many years locally as a commercial painter for Ogden Martin and will be remembered as a hard worker, always willing to provide a helping hand. Donald enjoyed going to the beach, fishing, watching action movies and going to BINGO with his wife. He was a devoted father, grandfather, brother and uncle.
Donald is survived by his sons Donald Lawler, III and his wife Pamela of Rochester, NH, Ronald Lawler of Haverhill, Larn T. Lawler and Miranda Thistlewood of Haverhill, and his daughter April Lawler and Joseph Desbian of Hookset, NH. He also leaves behind his brothers Norman Lawler and his wife Gloria of Scarborough, NH, Phyllis Grey of Newburyport, Mark Lawler of Salisbury and Linda Lawler of Salisbury; as well as thirteen grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife Jean Marie (Fitzgerald) Lawler, his son John F. Lawler, and his brother Jack Lawler.
