Ellen Abruzzese

Ellen Kathryn (McCarthy) Abruzzese, 42, of Richmond, Va., formerly of Haverhill, passed away on Monday, April 20, 2009.She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Joseph McCarthy. She is survived by two sons, David Michael and William Robert two daughters, Elissa Kathryn and Patricia Anne her mother, Joan Patricia McCarthy three brothers, James McCarthy and his wife, Eileen, Robert McCarthy and his wife Kristine and Daniel McCarty and his wife Paula two sisters, Ann Costa and Jane McCarthy five nephews, Mark and Stephen Costa, John, Patrick and Michael McCarthy three nieces, Ciara, Caite and Ruby McCarthy one brother-in-law, Ronald D. Abruzzese and his wife, Minhtam, and their children, Martha, Angela, Ronald and Katherine, of Fremont, Calif.Mrs. Abruzzese was employed as a Secretary with the Henrico County Public Schools. She graduated from Haverhill High School.She was a former President of the Seven Pines Elementary School PTA and the current Treasurer of the Henrico Education Foundation. Mrs. Abruzzese was a member of St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church.ARRANGEMENTS: A memorial gathering will be 6 to 9 p.m. on Friday, April 24, at the Nelsen Funeral Home, Laburnum Chapel.
