Derry, NH – Estelle M. (Poirier) Gaudette, 92, of Derry, NH, formerly of Lawrence, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 16, after a period of declining health. Born in Lawrence, she was the daughter of Jerome and Edith (Blanchard) Poirier. Estelle was a graduate of Lawrence High School, class of 1940. She began work at the Treasury Department in Boston, then worked at Western Electric and was employed as an office manager for Hamel’s Auto in Methuen, MA for 20 years before retiring in 1985. A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, she cherished her time spent with her family. She married Clarence in 1950 and cherished their 49 years together, raising their 3 boys. After retirement, she was a volunteer at Parkland Hospital and a member of the Derry, NH Senior Center. She enjoyed music and dancing of any kind and was an avid knitter. After retirement she and her husband enjoyed camping and traveling in their RV Home, from Franconia Notch, NH to a cross country trip to Alaska. The widow of Clarence Gaudette, who died in 1999, she leaves her loving children three sons, Richard P. Gaudette and his wife, Jennifer, of Franconia, NH, Robert M. Gaudette, and his wife, Susan, of Londonderry, NH, and James J. Gaudette and his wife, Lori, of Windham, NH, six grandchildren, Peter, Tyler, Angela, Tom, Julia and Joseph Gaudette, a sister Lorraine Rorke, of Haverhill, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings, Leonard, Lionel, Arthur, Ovila, Alphonse, Edward, Yvonne, Lucy, and Yvette. Friends and family are respectfully invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated Friday, November 21, at 11:30 AM at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 26 Crystal Ave. Derry, NH. Mrs. Gaudette’s family will receive guests from 11:00 AM in St. Thomas Aquinas Church. Interment will follow in the St. Mary’s Immaculate Conception Mausoleum, 29 Barker St. Lawrence, MA.
