Bradford – Evelyn A. (Lefebvre) Turner, 83, wife of the late Charles W. Turner, passed away September 21, 2018 at Academy Manor Nursing Home in Andover surrounded by her loving family.Born in Lawrence, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Marie (Langlois) Lefebvre. She was raised and educated in Lawrence. Evelyn was employed at the former Western Electric until starting her family. Evelyn was known for athletic abilities and was a swimming medal winner in the Lawrence Swim Club as a young girl. She loved the beach, skiing and was a competitive Scrabble player. Evelyn was an avid reader enjoying all genres. With her best friend and sister in law Gail Turner she enjoyed many adventurous outings over the years. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister she was known for her baking, especially her apple pies and whoopie pies. Evelyn will be missed by all who knew and loved her.Evelyn is survived by her children, Charles F. “Bud” Turner of Boston Patricia Lynch and her husband Robert of Portland, ME Jean Gemmell and her husband Joseph Gemmell III of Haverhill the late Kathleen Turner, who died in 1983 her brother Donald Lefebvre and his wife Ruth of Methuen her in laws, Raymond and Esther Turner of Rochester, NH Kathleen and Kurt Seastrand of Exeter, NH Stephen and Gail Turner Philip Gardella of Haverhill 6 grandchildren, Capt. Michael T. Lynch, USAF currently stationed at Seymour Johnson AFB, North Carolina Jennifer Lynch of Portland, ME Joseph W. Gemmell IV Katie Gemmell, Rees Gemmell and Christina Gemmell, all of Haverhill and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her sisters Florence, Marcie, Irene and Dorothy.Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend a calling hour on Wednesday, September 26 from 8:30AM until 9:30AM at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main Street, Haverhill. A funeral Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00AM at Sacred Heart Church, 165 South Main Street, Bradford. Burial will be in St. James Cemetery, Primrose Street, Haverhill. Memorial contributions may be made in Evelyn’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association, 309 Waverley Oaks Road, Waltham, MA 02452.
