Frederick L. Mosher Jr., 88, of Bradford, died peacefully Tuesday morning, Oct. 20, 2009 at the Merrimack Valley Hospital in Haverhill with his family by his side.Born in Haverhill, June 27, 1921, he was the son of the late Frederick L. Sr. and Frances L. (Furlong) Mosher. He attended Haverhill schools and was a graduate of Haverhill High School, Class of 1939. He then went on to attend M.I.T.A veteran of World War II, he proudly served in the U.S. Navy. His duty was that of motor machinist mate on Landing Ship Medium 443 in the Pacific Theater. He was awarded the Victory, American Area, and Asiatic Pacific Area medals.A G.E. apprentice alumni, Mr. Mosher was employed by the General Electric Company in Lynn for over 45 years. He managed the engineering department which oversaw the design and development of aircraft engine fuel controls, retiring in 1986. He worked well with his hands, he was mechanically inclined, and enjoyed gardening.He was a member of Sacred Hearts Parish and the Holy Name Society.He leaves his beloved wife, Mary Alice (Bresnahan) Mosher of Bradford a son, Gerard Mosher and his wife Vivian of Haverhill three daughters, Marianne Grant and her husband Arthur of Plaistow, N.H., Denise Williams and her husband Thomas of Wakefield, Andrea DiBurro and her husband Patrick of Exeter, N.H. cherished grandchildren, Matthew, Jeffrey, Alyssa, Ashton, Christopher, Ryan, Peter, and Daniel two brothers, John of Newburyport and Arthur of Florida four sisters, Maria Miller and Pauline Poitras, both of Plaistow, N.H., Ellen Rowinski of Florida, Frances Mosher of Newbury and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son, Daniel and his brother, William.ARRANGEMENTS: Friends and family may call on Friday from 9 until 10 a.m. at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main St. (Route 125) Haverhill. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:30 in Sacred Heart Church, South Main Street, Bradford. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery, Salem Street, Bradford.
