George Mayo Sr.

George E. Mayo Sr., 69, of Manchester, NH, formerly of Florida, Plaistow, and Haverhill, died Wednesday, May 23, at the Catholic Medical Center in Manchester, NH, surrounded by his loving family.Born in Haverhill, he was the son of the late, Robert and Bertha (Riley) Mayo. Raised and educated in Plaistow, he then moved to Haverhill to raise his family. Relocating to Florida over twenty-five years ago, he was employed as a custodian for the Cape Canaveral Hospital, in Cocoa Beach, retiring in 2008. Wanting to be closer to his family, he then came back to live in New England. He enjoyed NASCAR racing, he was an avid Red Sox fan, and loved his two dogs, Max and Riley.A devoted husband father, and grandfather, he leaves his beloved wife of forty-nine years, Sandra J. (Smith) Mayo, of Manchester, NH, three sons, George Elliot Mayo Jr and his longtime girlfriend, Heidi, of Haverhill, Daniel A. and his wife Tammy L., also of Haverhill, and Phillip A. Mayo, of Manchester, NH, two daughters, Lisa A. Samperi, of Bradford, and Michelle M. Wright, of Cocoa Beach, FL, cherished grandchildren, Melissa Phillips, Luke and Nick Samperi, Samantha, Nicholas, Ben, Eric, and D.J. Mayo and a great granddaughter, Kiana, four brothers and their wives, , Robert and Carlene Mayo, of Danville, NH, twin brother Ralph and Judy Mayo, of Twin Mountain, NH, William “Billy” and Penny Mayo, of Plaistow, NH, and Charles Mayo, of Florida, three sisters and their husbands, Josephine and Norman DeSerres, of Port Charlotte, FL, Bertha “B.B.” and Raymond Horsch, of Twin Mountain, NH, and Carol and Robert LaPorte, of Haverhill, brother in law, Clint Senter, of Plaistow, NH, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Elizabeth “Yibba” Senter, and son in law, Brian Wright.Friends and Family are respectfully invited to attend a memorial service for George at 6 :00 PM on Wednesday, May 30, 2012 at the Plaistow Fish and Game Club, 18 May Ray Avenue Plaistow, NH.
