Uxbridge, Massachusetts – Gerald E. “Jerry” Aubin, 61, passed away on May 29, 2015, after an extended stay at The Oxford Rehabilitation and Nursing Care Center in Haverhill, Massachusetts. Jerry was born on April 3, 1954 in Milford, Massachusetts, son of the late Lucien A. and Elvira A. (Brooks) Aubin. Jerry was raised in Uxbridge and Northbridge, Massachusetts, where he attended local schools, and spent most of his recent life in Worcester, Massachusetts. At times Jerry’s life was difficult but he was also a free spirit and led a full, interesting life in spite of the difficulties. His biggest love was music, which he eagerly passed along, introducing friends to new and varied bands such as Pink Floyd, Alice Cooper, Mott the Hoople and ELP, way before they were popular. Listen to the song “Rock and Roll Fantasy”. That song is about Jerry. Jerry loved the Montreal Canadiens and spent his remaining days wearing his beloved old Habs hat. He was also good with animals, was fond of cars, loved to draw, was an avid hiker when younger, and tried his hand at anything from rock climbing and golf to playing goalie in the hack leagues. He also had the good fortune to travel extensively with his brother Lucien and often talked about his visits to 46 of the 50 US states. His final days at the Oxford will be remembered as a joy, not a burden, due to his good memory and never-ending wit. Every down has an up, and we’ll always remember the “ups”.Jerry is survived by his three brothers, Lucien A. Jr and wife Kathy of Selkirk, New York, Lawrence A. and wife Sandra of Uxbridge, Massachusetts, and Alfred J. and his partner Jacqueline Crowley of Dover, New Hampshire. The family would like to thank Hospice of Merrimack Valley and the staff of The Oxford Rehabilitation and Nursing Care Center for their kind and loving support during Jerry’s lengthy illness. There will be no calling hours. A celebration of Jerry’s life will be held at a future time and date to be announced. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in his memory to Hospice Services of Massachusetts, 681 Main Street, Haverhill, Massachusetts. Jerry’s family asks that people visit the website for Comeau Funeral Home, Haverhill, Massachusetts at www.comeaufuneral.com and make entries in the Guestbook. Please share a funny story or something unique or special that you knew about Jerry. That’s how we want to remember Jerry.
