Ignatios Gabriel

Ignatios Gabriel, 70, of Bradford, died Sunday, April 8, at his home surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with cancer.Born and educated in Greece, he was the son of Stavros and Despina (Papadopoulos) Gabriel. Mr. Gabriel married his wife Eudoxia “Lucy” (Verros) in 1968 and immigrated to this country that same year. Settling in the Bradford section of Haverhill, they raised their two sons here.Mr. Gabriel was employed as an assembler for the Bailey Corporation in Seabrook, NH for twenty-six years, retiring in 2003. In his spare time he enjoyed gardening, tending to his yard, and tinkering around the house. A proud father, loving husband, and devoted family man, he cherished his time spent with family.He leaves his beloved wife of forty-four years, Eudoxia “Lucy” (Verros) Gabriel, of Bradford, two sons, Stavros Gabriel, of Haverhill, and Ralis “Lucky” Gabriel, also of Haverhill, two grandsons, Ian S. and Alexander T. Gabriel.Friends and family are respectfully invited to attend the Funeral Service on Wednesday, April 11, at 11:00 AM at the Holy Apostles Sts. Peter &amp Paul Greek Orthodox Church, 154 Winter St. Haverhill. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery, Salem St. Bradford. Calling hours are Tuesday, April 10, (Today) from 4 until 8 PM at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main St. Haverhill.
