Irene Murphy

Newton, NH – Irene V. (Wood) Murphy, 91, “Renie” wife of the late Edward T. Murphy who called her “Violet”, passed away September 14, 2018.Born in the Harlesden District of London England, she was the daughter of the late Frank W. and Ethel M. (Ratledge) Wood. She married her husband Edward on June 28, 1959.Irene was employed as an assembler at CBS and Hytron Manufacturing, also the former Western Electric and Eastern Canvas.Irene is survived by her lifelong friends and family Paula A. Lavallee &amp (James) of Wells, ME, Michelle Stanley &amp (Kenny) of Wolfeboro, NH and Dawn Berard and her husband Kevin of Haverhill. She is also survived by Michelle’s children Kristal of Portsmouth, NH, Corey of Ossipee, NH and Connor of Wolfeboro, NH whom she considered to be her own grandchildren.Irene enjoyed knitting &amp crafts of all sorts. She loved to laugh, make new friends, tell stories and truly enjoyed family and gatherings of all kinds. Irene enjoyed her days at the Vic Geary Senior Center in Plaistow, NH. She loved the trips, meals, parties and shopping adventures. She always left there with fun stories, a full belly and a warm heart from seeing her friends.Irene was laid to rest at St. James Cemetery, Primrose Street, Haverhill, MA alongside her beloved husband Eddie following a private ceremony.
