Marshall John “Jack” Hess, 71, of Fort Meyers, FL, formerly of Atkinson, NH passed away on Thursday, February 9, 2017. He was born in Springfield, MA on January 10, 1946. He graduated from the University of Dayton, Bowling Green State University and Kent State University.He was a retired Physical Education Professor, Athletic Director and Coach at Northern Essex Community College in Haverhill, MA. He also taught and coached at Lorain County Community College in Elyria, OH and at St. Joseph Junior High School in Manchester, NH.Jack loved participating in sports, boating, gardening, camping, karaoke and traveling. Jack coached many athletes spanning four decades. He used athletics as a way to teach his players life-long lessons. Jack had a big and joyful spirit. His love and generosity for his family, friends and even people he had just met knew no bounds. He was a people person and used that gift to always include others and make everyone feel welcome. He helped create so many fun and wonderful memories for those who knew him. Survivors include his wife Kathleen (Mikos) Hess, his daughter Marianne (Hess) and her husband Matthew Kouchoukos his son Thomas and his wife Jennifer (Butt) Hess his sister Barbara Lecuyer and her husband John his grandchildren Kevin Kouchoukos, Brady Kouchoukos, Ryan Kouchoukos, Tess Kouchoukos and Ava Hess his niece Kristin Lecuyer and nephew Matthew Lecuyer. He was preceded in death by his loving mother Catherine (Provost) Papanti and his stepfather Richard Papanti. Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend a calling hour on Saturday, March 11 from 10:00AM until 11:00AM at St. Luke the Evangelist Church, 8 Atkinson Depot Road, Plaistow, NH. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated following the visiting hour at 11AM. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, 892 Hilldale Avenue, Haverhill. Arrangements are by the Kevin B.
