James R. Sexton, II, 53, of Plaistow, formerly of Haverhill, MA and Fort Lauderdale, FL, passed away at the Merrimack Valley Hospice on April 2nd, after a year long battle with cancer. He was the widower of Mary Katherine “Kathy” (Lilley) Sexton who died in November of 2005.Jimmy was born May 13, 1958, the son of the late, Donald F. and Joan (Champoux) Sexton. He attended Haverhill public schools and was a Graduate of Whittier Vo-Tech, class of 1977, where he studied the refrigeration trade. Relocating to Florida he owned and operated an air conditioning business and later was employed by the School Board of Broward County in the maintenance department. After twenty five years he returned to New England to be closer to family and worked for Microsemi Corporation, in Lawrence.Jimmy will be missed for his “Don’t worry be happy” attitude which is the type of man he was. He would do anything for anyone and made many friends who will miss him dearly, both in Florida and New England.He is survived by his two cherished children, Jessica R. Sexton and Donald F. Sexton II, of Plaistow, two beloved brothers, Wayne D. Sexton and his wife Donna (Leavitt), of Bradford, and Daniel G. Sexton, of Haverhill, loving nieces, Jacqui L. and Casey E. Sexton, nephews, David D. Sexton and his fiancé, Miranda Muir, their son, Brogan Sexton, Mike A. Sexton, and Matt, Shawn, and Liam Carroll, sister in law, Julea (Lilley) Carroll and her husband Kevin, former wife, Janet Sexton, and two stepsons, Robert and Mike DeCienzo, aunt, Marion Bergman, of Haverhill and several cousins. He was predeceased by his brothers, David P. Sexton, and Dennis Sexton.At Jimmy’s request a private graveside service will be held at the family lot in Walnut Cemetery, Haverhill.
