Haverhill – James J. Tremblay, 76, husband of Susan (Cartier) Tremblay, passed away April 4, 2018 peacefully at Lahey Hospital in Burlington after a brief illness.Born in Haverhill, he was the son of the late Thomas and Mildred (Magliani) Tremblay. Raised and educated in Haverhill, he was a graduate of Haverhill Trade School. He obtained his Associates Degree from Northern Essex Community College. Jim served his country in the United States Army for 3 years, stationed in Germany and was honorably discharged. He was employed as the Health Inspector for the City of Haverhill and later, the Recycling Department for the City of Haverhill. Jim loved recycling, antique auctions and spending time with his family and friends at his camp on Province Lake in New Hampshire. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Jim is survived by his devoted wife of 49 years, Susan (Cartier) Tremblay of Haverhill, a son Jason Tremblay and his wife Laurie (Callahan) Tremblay of Haverhill, grandsons Travis Tremblay, and Jack Rau, a sister Virginia (Tremblay) Bergeron, of Haverhill and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his daughter Nicole Rau and brother in law, Will Bergeron. Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend calling hours on Monday, April 9 from 4:00PM until 7:00PM at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main Street, Haverhill. Funeral services will begin on Tuesday morning at 9:00AM in the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 AM at All Saints Church, 120 Bellevue Avenue, Haverhill.
