Jeffrey John Fraza, 34, of Haverhill, died unexpectedly on Saturday, February 4, 2012.Born on November 12, 1977, he was the beloved son of Mr. Norman J. Fraza Jr. and Mrs. Kathleen (Gigliotti) Fraza. Born and raised in Haverhill, MA, Jeff was educated at local schools, attending Whittier Tech Vocational High School.A championship boxer, Jeff began boxing at the age of 13 but started his professional career with the inception of the Haverhill Boxing Club in 1991. Jeff holds three national boxing championships including the Jr. Welterweight Championship under the guidance and training of Mr. Mickey Ward. Jeff is also widely known for his two season appearances on NBC’s hit reality TV show “The Contender” in 2005 and 2006, where his amazing skill and dedication to the sport of boxing made him a household name.Although Jeff lived in Haverhill, the Haverhill Boxing Club will always be remembered as Jeff’s home, where he spent long hours training and preparing himself for competition. Along with his father Norman, Jeff remained dedicated to the Haverhill Boxing Club, where even to this day, Jeff had been serving and teaching Haverhill’s youth, helping to train them to become the next great generation of fighters. Jeff will be sadly missed by many, but the love he shared for his family and the unbelievable dedication and commitment to the great sport of boxing that he strove to achieve, will be an everlasting tribute to not only those who knew him but a community who loved him.Jeff is survived by his parents, Norman J. Jr. and Kathlene (Gigliotti) Fraza of Haverhill, his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Norman J. Sr. and Sylvia (Lafoe) Fraza of Haverhill and Mr. Albert M. Gigliotti of Haverhill, his loving son, Antonio Luis Fraza of Haverhill, one brother, Derek J. Fraza of Haverhill, several Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins and his loving companion, Sylivia G. Pastrana of Haverhill. He was pre-deceased by his grandmother, Mrs. Shirley (Ferguson) Gigliotti.Friends and family are respectfully invited to call on Wednesday, February 8, from 4 until 8 PM at the Haverhill Boxing Club, 75 High Street, Haverhill. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 9, with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11:00 AM in St. James Church, Winter St. Haverhill. Burial will follow at St. James Cemetery, Primrose St. Haverhill.
