John Cashins, Jr.

John Joseph Cashins, Jr., 69, died at his home on June 29, 2012, surrounded by his loving family.Born in Boston, he was the son of the late, John J. Sr, and Rose (Eagan). He was a Graduate of South Boston High School, Class of 1961, and received his degree from the Franklin Technical Institute. He served in the U.S. Army Reserves and was honorably discharged in 1970.He was a member of Local 17 Sheet Metal Workers Union for 10 years and MIT Physical Plant for 30 years. He enjoyed hunting, boating and working in his yard. His greatest joy was spending time with his family especially his grandchildren. His greatest gift to his family and all that new him was his sense of humor.He leaves his beloved wife of forty-six years, Martha (Balestrieri) Cashins, of East Kingston, NH, a son Brian Cashins, of Hampstead, NH, a daughter and her husband, Julie and Scott Urwick, also of East Kingston, three brothers and their wives, Robert and Mary Cashins, of Reading, William and Donna Cashins, also of Reading, and Richard and Maureen Cashins, of Quincy, five cherished grandchildren, Laurel, Rebecca, Heather, John, and Zack, and many nieces and nephews.Friends and family are respectfully invited to call on Friday, July 6, from 4 until 8 PM at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main St. (Rte 125) Haverhill. A memorial service with military honors will take place on Saturday, July 7 at 11:00 AM in the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home. Burial is private.
