Haverhill – John P. Graceffa, 61, of Haverhill, formerly of Maynard, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, April 2, 2015 after being stricken ill suddenly.Born in Concord, he was the son of the late, Philip J. and Carolyn (Cataraso) Graceffa. Raised in Maynard, he attended Maynard public schools and was a graduate of Maynard High School, class of 1971. Shortly after graduation, Mr. Graceffa enlisted into the U.S. Navy. A Vietnam Veteran he was honorably discharged after serving from 1971 until 1975.Mr. Graceffa was employed in the Pest Control field for many years as a customer service representative, working for Waltham Pest Control.He enjoyed working out, playing poker, and enjoyed fishing, but most of all spending time with his grandchildren.A devoted father and grandfather, he leaves his children, Angela M. Cato and her husband, Christopher, of Maynard, John P. Graceffa, of Fitchburg, and Lisa M. Hines and her husband, Kenneth, of Leominster, adoring grandchildren, Kayla, Hailey, and Owen Cato, Andrew, Dylan, and Jhonathan Graceffa, and Madison and Hannah Hines, a brother, Joseph Graceffa, of Maynard, three sisters, Marguerite Kelly, of Maynard, Rosalie Bellefeuille and her husband, Robert, of Holyoke, and Phillis Mills, of Maynard and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings, Francesca “Dolly” Beals, Carol Sullivan, and Mary Graceffa. Friends and family are respectfully invited to attend a Memorial Service for Mr. Graceffa on Monday evening, April 13, at 7:30 PM at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main St. (Rte 125) Haverhill. His family will welcome visitors from 6:00 PM until 7:30 PM prior to services.
