Josephine A. (Circo) Chamberlain, 91, wife of John C. Chamberlain, of Newburyport, passed away on March 6, 2026 at High Pointe Hospice House in Haverhill.
Josephine was born in Boston on October 23, 1934 to Sebastiano and Carmela (Russo) Circo. Josephine was a devoted homemaker, wife, mother and grandmother. In her earlier years she was the first woman to coach the Farm League, baseball’s little leaguers of the day; and she was for many years a devoted member of the Secular Order of the Carmelites (OCDS) in Peabody. She, most of all, enjoyed spending time with her family. Josephine is survived by her husband John C. Chamberlain of Newburyport, and her sons John Chamberlain and Julia Yagual of Haverhill, and Mark Chamberlain of Alexandria, NH. She also leaves behind her grandson Nicolas Sebastian Chamberlain, and Maria Sterling.
Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend calling hours on Wednesday, March 11 from 4PM until 7PM at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main Street, Haverhill. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, March 12th at 10:30AM at All Saints Parish, Haverhill. Burial to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Newburyport.
