Lester W. White

Groveland – Lester W. White, 90, husband of the late Dorothy T. (King) White, who passed away May 6, 2020, passed May 8, 2020, just 38 hours after his beloved wife, of Covid-19 at Holy Family Hospital in Methuen.

Born in Haverhill, he was the son of the late Clarence E. and Eva A. (Watts) White. Lester served his country with honor in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He founded Groveland Fence in 1960 and retired in 1992, having his family continue the business. Lester was proud to see his son in law and grandsons follow in his footsteps. He liked motorcycles, old cars, and riding around his yard on his tractor. Lester enjoyed travelling to Florida for the winters with his wife Dorothy. His family and all his friends will miss him dearly. The family would like to thank Baker Katz Nursing Home where he resided briefly and for putting up with his shenanigans. Thank you to Merrimack Valley Hospice for his care during his final hours.

Lester is survived by his daughter, Andrea Belisle and her husband Kenneth of Groveland; his grandsons, Bryan Belisle and his wife Allison of Groveland; Brett Belisle and his wife Emily of Kingston, NH; his great grandchildren, Cooper, Olive, Sawyer and Ruth. He was predeceased by his son W. Michael White, brothers, Gerald and Newell White and a sister, Bessie Dlugosz.

    Our thoughts and prayers are with the white family known Dot and Whitey many years I remember going into heavenly donuts with my son they got him a tigger stuffed tiger he would take tiggy everywhere jump started whiteys Lincoln awhile ago going to miss them both

    Sorry to hear of Whitey’s passing. Many good memories when I was a kid, he and Dottie were close family friends. My mom is Joyce.

    I am so sorry, Ed and I knew Whitie for years, always a good guy, Ed probably knew his wife better than I did, but my condolences to the family .
