Lillian P. (Martin) Bentley, 85, of Haverhill, died Saturday, May 12, at the Stevens Bennett Home in Haverhill, surrounded by her loving family.Born in Haverhill on January 2, 1927, she was the daughter of the late, Paul E. and Rose Anna (Hevey) Martin. Educated in Haverhill, she was a Graduate of St. Joseph’s Grammar School, Class of 1940 and St. James High School, Class of 1944. She then furthered her education attending college in Canada and then received her LPN Certification from D’Youville Hospital in Cambridge, MA.She taught school in Lowell and Haverhill for many years and also worked as a licensed practical nurse in Lowell, Cambridge, and Haverhill. A lifelong, active member of All Saints Church, she served as a Eucharistic Minister, and belonged to the St. Anne’s Society, 3rd order of Mary.The widow of Harold T. Bentley, she leaves two stepsons, Harold T. Bentley Jr., of Fl, Robert W. Bentley, of Wilmington, a step daughter, Barbara Cassaro, of Ware, three brothers, Gerard G. Martin, of Haverhill, Rev. Normand J. Martin, of Lourdes Center, Boston, and Joseph Ronald Martin and his wife, Marie Jeanne, of Haverhill, two sisters, Yvette H. Vallieres, of Cape Coral, FL, and Sr. Theresa N. Martin, S.C.O of Lowell, thirteen grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, and several loving nieces and nephews.Friends and family are respectfully invited to call on Tuesday from 5 until 8 PM at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home 486 main St. (Rte 125) Haverhill. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 9:00 AM from the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 AM in All Saints Church, Bellevue Ave. Haverhill. Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Hilldale Ave., Haverhill.
