Marjorie G. (Edgerly) Smith, 94, of Hampton, NH, formerly of Haverhill, died Tuesday, August 14, at the Merrimack Valley Hospice House in Haverhill.Born in Boston, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Maude (McCaffrey) Edgerly, raised in Dorchester, she attended Boston Public Schools and was a Graduate of South Boston High School, Class of 1936. Relocating to Haverhill with her late husband, Nathaniel C. Smith, together they would raise their family and live here for the next fifty-years. After the loss of her husband in 1980 she then moved to Hampton, NH and for the past seven years she resided in Brentwood, NH.Mrs. Smith was a woman of many talents, as a young lady she was a model for Hovey’s Department Store, and was named “Miss Quincy Yacht Club”, she enjoyed art and was a gifted sketch artist. She was also the president of the Haverhill “Mother of Twins Club”. She especially enjoyed gathering with her family.She leaves three sons, Nathaniel C. and his wife, Cynthia, of Hampton, NH, Jeffrey R. Smith of ME, and Mark A. Smith, of FL, eight grandchildren, Kari Wright, Jodi Kramer, Jessica Denio, Andrew Smith, Corey Smith, Heidi McClintock, and Lindsey and Erin Smith, seven great grandchildren, Alex, Samuel, Matthew, Lucas, Elizabeth, Owen, and Henry. She was predeceased by a daughter, Gale A. Smith, and a brother, Phillip Edgerly.Friends and family are respectfully invited to call on Saturday morning from 9:00 AM until 10:30 AM at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 main St. (Rte 125) Haverhill. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM in St. James Church, Winter St. Haverhill. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery, Primrose St. Haverhill. Memorial contributions may be made in her name to St. Jude Children’s Hospital P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN, 38148-0142.
