Mark Allen Young, Lieutenant, Haverhill Fire Department, 51, of Haverhill and Florida, died , Tuesday, October 4, at his home in Florida, after a courageous battle with cancer.Born in Haverhill, August 24, 1960, he was the son of James E. Young and Deanna B. (Poley). He attended Haverhill Public Schools and was a Graduate of Haverhill High School, Class of 1978. He then went on to further his education at Norwich University. He received his bachelor’s degree in fire science. For over twenty-two years, Mr. Young, A.K.A. “Baggus” the “Peacock”, was employed by the City of Haverhill as a firefighter. Rising to the rank of Lieutenant, he earned the respect of his brother firefighters. He was a member of the Saggahew Lodge, A.F.&amp A.M., Haverhill, the I.A.F.F., Local 1011, and being a motorcycle enthusiast, he was a member of the Fire and Iron Motorcycle Club, Merrimack Valley Chapter 28.He leaves his wife, Tracy L. (Kangas) Young, of Port Orange, Florida, three daughters, Justine M. Young, Jennifer L. Young, and Kayla L. Chapman, a son, Mark A. Young Jr, his father, James E. Young and his wife Irene (Richards), of Epping, NH, his mother Deanna B. (Poley) Holsinger, and her husband Richard, of Haverhill, mother in law, Barbara Harrison, of Haverhill, a brother, Keith E. Young and his wife, Caryn, of North Andover, nephews, Cody and Kyle Young, brothers in law, Shawn Garron, Michael Brown and his wife, Mary Ellen, sister in law, Melanie Kimball, and best 4 legged friend “Tiny” who will miss him dearly.Friends and family are respectfully invited to call on Tuesday, October 18, from 4 until 8 PM at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main St. (Rte 125) Haverhill. Funeral services with Firefighters Honors will be held on Wednesday, October 19, at 9:00 AM from the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 AM in All Saints Church, Bellevue Ave. Haverhill. Committal services will follow at the Firefighters Memorial in Linwood Cemetery, Mill St. Haverhill. Memorial donations may be made to the Haverhill Fire Dept Memorial Fund, C/O Haverhill Fire Dept.
