Sherborn, MA – Michael D. Blackey, 62, passed away August 15, 2016 at Metrowest Medical Center in Framingham.Born in Haverhill, he was the son of the late Ernest and Marjorie (Newcomb) Blackey. Raised and educated in Haverhill he was a graduate of Haverhill High School, Class of 1971. He served his country in the United States Air Force and was honorably discharged. He was employed as a carpenter for local contractors in Framingham for 17 years. Michael enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid fisherman. He also enjoyed watching NASCAR. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Michael is survived by his daughter, Michelle Diaz of Haverhill a step daughter Alicia Powers of Lawrence 6 grandchildren, Marquis and Jayden Diaz, Stephen, Natalia, Maximus and Adriana Powers his siblings, Judy Lajoie and her husband Daniel of Burlington, VT David Blackey of SC Darlene Paquette and her husband Darius of Wolfboro, NH Dwayne Blackey of Haverhill Tina Muir and her husband Todd of Haverhill and Daniel Batchelder of Seneca, SC and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sisters Cynthia Weiner and Susan DeRoche and his brother Stephen T. Blackey. Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend calling hours on Satuday, August 20 from 4:00PM until 7:00PM at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main Street, Haverhill.
