Nancy L. (Hanscom) Peabody, 77

Atkinson, NH – Nancy L. (Hanscom) Peabody, 77, wife of the late Robert D. Peabody, passed away January 3, 2020 at Lawrence General Hospital with her loving family by her side.

Born in Haverhill, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Emma (Garavanta) Hanscom. Raised and educated in Haverhill, she attended St. James Grammar School and St. James High School, graduating in the Class of 1960. Nancy was a Union Rep in the Mini Oscillator Room at Lucent Technologies for 22 years. She spent summers at Hampton Beach and loved her trips to Foxwoods with her brother Dickie. Known for her amazing cooking, especially for her sauce and soups, she will be remembered for her love of people, her kindness, compassion and her selflessness. Nancy had a great sense of humor and cherished her time with her grandchildren. She will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved her.

Nancy is survived by her daughters, Debra A. House and her husband Jeffrey J. House of Haverhill and Linda M. DeLegge and her husband Kevin M. of Atkinson, NH; her beloved grandchildren, Taylor House, Allison House, Cassandra DeLegge and Olivia DeLegge, and several loving cousins and friends. In addition to her husband Robert, she was predeceased by her brothers, Robert H. Hanscom and Richard Hanscom.

Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend calling hours on Tuesday, January 7 from 4:00PM until 7:00PM at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main Street, Haverhill. Funeral services will begin Wednesday at 9:00AM in the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at St. James Church, Winter Street, Haverhill at 10:00AM. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery, Primrose Street, Haverhill. Donations may be made in her memory to Atkinson Elder Services, 21 Academy Avenue, Atkinson, NH 03811.     Deb and Linda, I am so saddened by the loss of your mother. I have many fond memories of her at the beach. Hampton is forever changed.
