Michael A. Yemma, 53 passed away suddenly on February 9, 2023 at Tewksbury Hospital in Tewksbury, Massachusetts.
Born in Haverhill on October 6, 1969, he was the son of Charlotte L. (DeMaris) Yemma and the late Ronald P. Yemma. Raised and educated in Haverhill, he was a graduate of Whittier Regional Vocational High School, Class of 1987, where he studied carpentry. Throughout his life, he established himself as an experienced finish carpenter, working on many homes throughout Merrimack Valley, the North Shore, and the adjacent New England states. As a teenager, Michael worked in the rental shop at Bradford Ski Area, and enjoyed skiing at Waterville Valley, Loon Mountain, and Tuckerman’s Ravine. Michael also participated in competitive sports throughout all his life, particularly softball and volleyball. In high school he played baseball and football and after high school he tried out for the Red Sox.
In the summer months, you could find Michael spiking the ball over the net on a beach volleyball court and in the spring and fall at the stadium playing softball. He also enjoyed taking his annual camping trip to Wild Acres Campground in Old Orchard Beach, ME. Michael enjoyed cooking his famous chicken pasta alfredo for his boys for traditional Sunday dinners. He was also known as the grill master for family cookouts, and birthday parties. Michael could always be found controlling the grill, cooking up his famous grilled chicken, steak tips, burgers and hotdogs to perfection.
He was an active member of the Carl Davis Post 34 American Legion in Plaistow, NH where he had served as honorary Sergeant of Arms. He enjoyed cooking breakfast on Sunday mornings and also working the food drives for people in need.
In addition to his mother, Michael is survived by his two children, Jonathan M Boylan and Matthew B. Boylan Yemma and their mother and longtime friend Kelly S. Boylan, his older sister, HeidiJane Montejunas, his older brother Gary D. Tuck Jr., and his wife Laurie, and his younger sister Tricia A (Yemma) Bednar, . His nephews and nieces, Sean Davis, Bryan Montejunas, Jacob Montejunas, Christian Montejunas, Hunter Tuck, and Ana Godin, and one great niece Colby Rose Montejunas.
