Anne Elizabeth Greaney, 72, passed away peacefully on November 23, 2021, at her home in Groveland, MA surrounded by her family.
Born in Haverhill, MA on January 8, 1949, she was the daughter of the late Harold and Arleen (Murphy) Sturtevant. She spent her childhood growing up with her two older brothers, William and Daniel, and younger sister Lisa enjoying annual vacations to Twin Mountain and to the beach.
Anne graduated from Pentucket Senior High School in 1966, before attending the Haverhill Trade School to receive her nursing license. Afterwards, she had a fulfilling 40-year nursing career before retiring in 2008. She loved being a nurse and helping to make a difference in other’s lives. When not working, she spent much of her time shuttling her two sons, Brian and Michael, to their sporting events.
Growing up as one of four children, Anne loved spending time with her family and was especially proud of her children, grandchildren, and nieces. She also loved to read, sit by her pool, enjoyed holiday movies on the Hallmark Channel, and cheering on her Red Sox and Patriots.
Anne is survived by her sons Brian Greaney of Groveland and Michael Greaney and his wife Katherine of Cedar Park, TX; grandchildren Corey and Kelleigh Greaney of Groveland and Joshua Day of Haverhill; niece Katherine Soiett of Rochester, NH; and Erica Meisenheimer of Alexandria, VA; brother Daniel Sturtevant and his wife Deborah of Charlotte, NC; sister Lisa and her husband Blair Soiett of Strafford, NH. Anne is predeceased by her older brother William Sturtevant in 2005.
Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend calling hours on Wednesday, December 1 from 4:00PM until 7:00PM at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main St., Haverhill. A funeral service will be held on Thursday morning at 11:00AM in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery, Main St., Groveland.
