Merrimac – Carleton K. Bailey, 86, loving husband of Frances A. (Pascucci) Bailey, died on Sunday, April 2 at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, MA.
Carleton was born in Haverhill. He was the son of the late Kenneth and Marie Regina (Comeau) Bailey. He was educated in the Haverhill public schools and was a graduate of Haverhill Trade School, Class of 1955. A Navy Veteran, he served from 1956 to 1960 and was honorably discharged.
Carleton worked for 35 years in the sheet metal fabrication trade starting at Western Electric, retiring from Lucent Technologies in North Andover. For several years after his retirement, he worked as a funeral services assistant at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home. He coached his sons little league games and was a Boston sports fan, enjoying the Red Sox, Patriots and Celtics. He loved gardening and feeding and watching his birds in his back yard.
Carleton was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend. Carleton is survived by his wife Frances A. (Pascucci) Bailey, Merrimac, MA, his son Christopher and wife Elena Bailey, Hampstead, NH, and a grandson Alexander Bailey; and a sister Judith and husband John Playdon, Bradford. He was predeceased by his brother Russell “Monk” Bailey and his sister Leslie Tidd.
Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend calling hours on Tuesday April 11 from 9:30AM until 10:30 AM at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home 486 Main Street, Haverhill. A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11AM at St. John the Baptist Church, 114 Lincoln Ave, Haverhill. Burial to follow at St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Haverhill.
