No. Andover and Newburyport – Carol A. (Lane) Costello, 85, wife of Myles J. Costello, Jr passed away at High Pointe Hospice House in Haverhill on March 27, 2020.
Born in Lawrence, she was the daughter of the late George F. and Yvonne (Violette) Lane. She attended St. Augustine Grammar School and was a graduate of St. Mary’s High School, Class of 1952. Carol lead a life devoted to God, family and friends. She worked at Lawrence Wholesale Drug for 10 years and Lambers CPA Review as an administrative assistant for 25 years, retiring in 2008. She enjoyed traveling with her family and friends to Florida, Ireland, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic and Las Vegas. Carol was a communicant at St. Michael’s Church in No. Andover. She was an active and popular resident at Atria Merrimack Place, enjoying bingo and other daily activities. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, she will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
In addition to her loving husband of over 61 years, Carol is survived by her children, Myles T. Costello and his life partner Kathy Jay of Haverhill; James F. Costello and his wife Ingris of Andover; Judith A. Cronin and her husband Timothy of West Newbury; seven grandchildren, Elizabeth (Cronin) Wormley, John and Jeremiah Cronin, Myles and Thomas Costello, Santiago and James Costello; her great grandchild, Lyla Cronin; sisters in law Judy Costello of West Roxbury and Millie Lane of Salem, NH; and several nieces and nephews. Carol was pre-deceased by her brother George Lane, Jr., and granddaughter Mary Catherine Costello.
A celebration of Carol’s life will be announced at a later date. Arrangements are by the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main Street, Haverhill.
