Haverhill – Celia (Dionne) “Sis” Sullivan, 90, Widow of Robert D. Sullivan, of Haverhill, passed away on August 7, 2021, surrounded by her loving family at the High Pointe Hospice House in Haverhill. Her family takes comfort in knowing that she joined the love of her life to dance the night away on what would have been their 72nd wedding anniversary.
Born in Lawrence, she was the daughter of Raymond R. and Josephine (Capone) Dionne. She attended Lawrence Public Schools and was a Graduate of Lawrence High School, class of 1949. She was employed in the restaurant industry in Haverhill for many years as a server at the Roma, Mr. Mikes, Tavern on the Green and Bradford Country Club. Mrs. Sullivan also followed her grandchildren to school as she was a Lunch Monitor at the Smiley School and Walnut Square School and enjoyed every minute of it. “Sis” cherished time spent with her family, a good game of 45’s, BINGO with her BINGO buddies, and day trips to Foxwoods.
“Sis” was a loving mom, sister, grandmother, aunt, and friend to many. She will be deeply missed and remembered for her spunk and big heart. She is survived by her children, Daniel R. Sullivan and his wife Martha of Bradford; Karan E. Sullivan and her husband Vytas Ivanouskas of Reno, NV; Patricia A. Sullivan, of Salisbury; Michael P. Sullivan of Haverhill; Jody A. Sullivan of Bartlett, NH; four grandchildren, Karla Plassmann and her husband Shawn, Molly Sarianides and her husband John, Casey Joseph, Callie Joseph; four great grandchildren, Julia Plassmann, David Plassmann, Daniel Sarianides, Violet Sarianides; a sister; Angela Arsenault and her husband, David, of Derry, NH, brothers; Ronald Dionne, of Lynn and Donald Dionne, of Pulaski, NY, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Robert A. Sullivan and son in law, Richard Joseph.
Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, August 13 at 10:00AM at St. James Church, Winter Street, Haverhill. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery, Primrose Street, Haverhill. Memorial donations may be made in her name to the Liz Murphy Open Hand Pantry, 6 Cottage St. Haverhill, MA 01830.
