NEWBURYPORT – Christine H. Ogilvie, 53, of Newburyport passed away on Wednesday, May 22 surrounded by family at Beth Israel Hospital in Boston.
Christine was born in Boston the daughter of Gwendolyn (Varney) Julien. She was a graduate of Bangor High School, Class of 1988 and then went on to study Accounting and Business Management receiving her Associates Degree from Northern Essex Community College. Christine worked most recently as an outreach counselor with Vinfen Behavioral Health in Lawrence. She was heavily dedicated to AA and directed the Maris Center, a sober house for women, for many years. Christine enjoyed dancing to music, camping and being outdoors, and hosting grand holiday parties; but especially spending time with her family.
Christine was a devoted partner, mother and grandmother. She is survived by her long time partner Michael O’Leary of Newburyport, her mother Gwendolyn (Varney) Ogilvie of Bangor, ME, daughters Tessa M. Boyle of Newburyport, and Carisa R. Boyle of Myrtle Beach, SC, and a son Joshua A. Babcock and his partner Angela Clem of Weymouth; step-daughter Darla C. Boyle and her husband William Sutherland of Plaistow, NH and Bethany S. Boyle of Plaistow, NH. She also leaves behind her brothers David E. Ogilvie of Manchester, NH and Brandon S. Ogilvie and his wife Amanda of Bangor, ME and a sister Jennifer M. Ogilvie and her partner Kenneth A. Bienvenue of Tilton, NH; and grandchildren Vayda R. Sutherland, Taylor L. Miller and Ryder J. Rawding. She was predeceased by her former life partner and father of her children Richard L. Boyle.
ARRANGEMENTS: Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend calling hours on Wednesday, May 29 from 4PM until 6:30PM followed by a funeral home chapel service at 6:30PM at the Kevin B.
