The matriarch of our family Confesora Alers age 102 of Lawrence Massachusetts departed this life to be with the Lord, on November 22, 2021, at the Royal of Fairhaven surrounded by her loving family. Wife of the late Zolio Alers, Confesora was born in Moca, Puerto Rico, she grew up there and attended school in Moca. She came to New Bedford in 1962 and settled in the Lawrence area in 1973. Confesora worked as a cafeteria cook in the public schools. She loved singing and praising the Lord, above all nothing compared to her love and time she shared with her family. She was a devoted Mother and grandmother. We will always remember her for being fiercely independent, strong willed and feisty with a no nonsense type of attitude, but with a pure, kind and loving heart. We will cherish our wonderful memories of her, and carry them forever in our hearts.
Confesora is survived by her children, Osvaldo Alers and his wife Gloria of Spring Hill, FL; Hernan O. Alers and his wife Betty L. of Ocala, FL; Jose Alers and his wife Filgia of Lawrence MA; ten beloved grandchildren, Rebecca, Jennifer, Daniel, Christopher, Gabriel, Kathleen, Robert, Yvonne, Marisol, and Debbie and many great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her daughter Juana Monzon.
Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend calling hours on Sunday, November 28, 2021 from 6:00PM until 8:00PM at the Assembly of God Church, 14 Vine St., Lawrence MA. A graveside service will be held on Monday at 10:00AM in St. Mary Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Barker St., Lawrence MA. Arrangements are by the Kevin B.
