HAVERHILL – Daniel J. Chernesky, 88, husband of the late Lillian T. (Goudreault) German-Chernesky, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 13 at his home in Haverhill.
Born in Haverhill on June 26, 1935, he was the son of the late Joseph and Rose (Kiarsis) Chernesky. Educated in Haverhill Public Schools, he was a graduate of Haverhill Trade School, Class of 1953. A Korean War Veteran, Daniel enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and was honorably discharged in 1958. He worked in the maintenance department of Northern Essex Community College for 31 years; he also enjoyed spending time following the stock market. Daniel will be remembered as a loving son, husband, brother and uncle by those he leaves behind.
Daniel is survived by his brother Edward P. Chernesky and his wife Karen, and his sister Elinor J. Chernesky, all of Haverhill. He also leaves behind his nieces and nephews; Edmund “Mickey” Chernesky, Kerriann Maclean, Lynn Rose Lareau, Michael Kimball, Lauren Kimball, Dona Cunningham, and Gail Cunningham. He was predeceased by his wife Lillian T. German-Chernesky, and his brother Edmund J. Chernesky.
ARRANGEMENTS: Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend calling hours from 4PM until 7PM on Tuesday, June 18 at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main Street, Haverhill. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 19 at 11 AM in the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Lithuanian Cemetery, Bradford.
