HAVERHILL – David M. Lynch, 61, of Haverhill MA, passed away unexpectedly on January 31at his residence.
David was a graduate of Haverhill High School, Class of 1981 and was a lifelong resident of Haverhill. David was a welder and carpenter for Boston Barricade in Plaistow NH for most of his career and recently retired this past fall. David was an avid fan of all Boston professional sports teams and played competitive softball his entire life, only recently leaving the game he loved due to health reasons. His favorite pastime was the annual fantasy football draft that he shared with many of his lifelong friends from grade school. David was fiercely loyal to many of his childhood friends from John Greenleaf Whittier Middle School and had an incredible sense of humor and quick wit, often making original jokes on the spot. He was a kind and generous brother, uncle and godfather, often known for his penchant of handing out cash to his many nieces and nephews on Christmas and birthdays. He will be sorely missed by all of those who knew him.
David is predeceased by his parents, John J. and Elaine (Capeles) Lynch and is survived by nine brothers and sisters. John Lynch Jr. and his wife Maria of Haverhill MA, Mark Lynch and his wife Barbara of St. Augustine FL, Michael Lynch of Salisbury MA, Peter Lynch and his wife Lisa of Haverhill MA, Kathryn Devaney and her husband Timothy of Haverhill, Stephen Lynch and his wife Kari, of Burlington MA, Thomas Lynch and his wife Lisa of Ipswich MA, Timothy Lynch of Haverhill MA, and Patricia Hathaway and her husband Frank of Marblehead MA. He also leaves many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews, as well as many cousins.
ARRANGEMENTS: Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Monday, February 5 from 4PM until 7PM at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main Street, Haverhill.
