HAVERHILL – Edwin Oquendo, 50, of Haverhill passed away on Saturday, March 2 at Lawrence General Hospital.
Born in Jayuya, Puerto Rico, he was the son of Gladys M. Gonzalez of Haverhill and the late Angel Oquendo. He came to Haverhill in 2008 He worked as a carpenter in the construction industry in Puerto Rico for many years. Edwin loved his mother’s cooking and enjoyed basketball and riding his own horses. He will be remembered as a devoted father, son grandfather, brother and uncle who will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Edwin is survived by his mother Gladys and children Edwin Oquendo and his partner Aldina Karahasan, and Jorivette Andujar and her partner Pedro Lebron; siblings Luis Oquendo and his wife Maria Arce, Maria Colon and her husband Miguel, Vilma Oquendo and her husband Jose Julio Gonzalez, all of Haverhill; Irma Oquendo of Jayuya, PR, Rebecca Oquendo and her husband Jaime Abreau of Jayuya, PR, Rosabel Oquendo, of Haverhill, Amaris Oquendo and her fiancé Jose Nunez of Haverhill and Eileen Oquendo and husband Angel Cruz; his grandson Josaed Lebron and several nieces and nephews.
ARRANGEMENTS: Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend calling hours on Saturday, March 9 from 4PM until 6:30PM at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main Street, Haverhill.
