HAVERHILL – Francis G. Bourque, 92, husband of Joan F. (Bonenfant) Bourque, of Haverhill, passed away on Wednesday, October 11, peacefully at his home with his wife at his side.
Francis was born on October 11, 1931 in Haverhill to Raymond and Eleanor (Giles) Bourque. He graduated president of his class from Haverhill Trade School, after which he enlisted in the U.S. Navy, serving during the Korean Conflict. Francis worked for Grand Union Supermarket, in the building industry for many years, and as a machine operator eventually retiring from Lucent Technologies. He enjoyed many hobbies; he was an excellent cook, a collector of stamps and coins, loved tropical fish and attended many fish shows throughout New England. Francis was also an avid golfer and enjoyed all sports teams. He spent time traveling with his wife Joan to Florida, Nashville, Alaska and Las Vegas; and Francis and Joan could be found every day at 9AM at Heavenly Donuts in Bradford where they even had their own seats. Francis will be remembered fondly as a devoted husband, father and grandfather.
Francis is survived by his devoted wife of 70 years Joan F. (Bonenfant) Bourque, his son William R. Bourque and Suzi Demeritt, and his daughters Patricia S. Martin, of Haverhill and Cindy Jean Darling, of Haverhill. He also leaves behind his sister Carol Silby of Haverhill, and his grandchildren Jeremy, Christopher, Christina, Joshua, Cassandra, Maxwell and Jake. Francis is predeceased by his brothers Calvin Bourque, Jay Bourque and Barry Bourque and sisters Simone Moores and Jane Bourque.
ARRANGEMENTS: Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Monday, October 16 from 4PM until 7PM at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main Street, Haverhill.
