Frederick R. Whittier, Jr. April 25, 1937 - May 7, 2021

Haverhill – Frederick R. Whittier, Jr., 84, husband of the late Mary (Allen) Whittier, passed away May 7, 2021 at the High Pointe Hospice House in Haverhill.

Born in Haverhill, he was the son of the late Frederick R. And Bertha (Torrence) Whittier. Raised and educated in the Haverhill School System, he was a graduate of Haverhill Trade School in the electrical program, Class of 1955.Frederick served his country in the United States Navy from 1955 until 1959 and was honorably discharged. He was a hard worker and had a work ethic like no other and was employed at Raytheon for almost 40 years. Frederick loved following family sporting events with his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, skiing, the beach, a game of softball. Frederick could often be found with his metal detector searching for treasure.  A loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and friend, he will be sorely missed by all his family and many friends.

Surviving him are his children, Frederick S. and Gina Whittier of Sandown, NH; Scott B. and Elena Whittier of Bradford; Mary Lou and Rock Brisson of Chester, NH; grandchildren, Mandy Breton and her husband Jeremie, Katelyn Whittier, Kristen Aleska and Fred Whittier, Tyler Whittier and Lauren Whittier; five great grandchildren, Kylie, Jack, Frederick, Cora and Ryan; brothers, Raymond Whittier and his wife Angel of Haverhill and John Whittier of Haverhill. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 60 years, Mary (Allen) Whittier who passed in September of 2020.

Funeral services are private. At a later date this year, the Whittier family will be hosting a celebration of life in memory of both Fred and Mary Whittier. Arrangements are by the Kevin B.     To my cousins Freddie, Scott and Mary,
    So sorry for the loss of both your parents in such a short spanned of time.
    I have many great memories of both of them throughout my childhood. Your mom was everybody’s babysitter and caregiver. Your dad was a great hunter. I’ll never forget eating venison for the first time from one of the deer 🦌 he had got.
    Again I’m truly sorry for your loss and thinking of you and hoping your memories of special times bring you all comfort.
