METHUEN – Germaine “Gerry” (Lefebvre) Travers, 89, of Methuen, widow of the late, Michael Travers Jr. passed away peacefully with her family by her side at the Holy Family Hospital in Methuen after a brief illness.
Gerry was born and raised in Lawrence, she was one of ten children to the late Paul E. and Antoinette (Landry) Lefebvre. She was a graduate of St. Anne’s Grammar school. In her younger days, Gerry sang at the French Social Club in Lawrence. She was a self taught organ player and was a gifted craftswoman as she enjoyed crocheting and painting. Gerry loved being with her family; making her famous spaghetti sauce or roast beef dinners followed by playing a friendly game of 45’s or rummy, she was known as the card shark. She had a great sense of humor.
A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great great grandmother, she leaves her daughters; Patricia Delibac, of North Andover, Gail Todd and her husband Barry, of Dalzell, South Carolina and Mary Bodah, of Haverhill, a brother, Joseph “Bob” Lefebvre, thirteen grandchildren, and several great grandchildren and nieces and nephews, all of whom well miss her dearly.
ARRANGEMETS: Family and friends are respectfully invited to calling hours on Tuesday morning from 10:00 AM until 11:30 AM at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main St. Haverhill. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home at 11:30AM. Burial will follow at St. Mary Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Lawrence.
