AMESBURY – Gregory J. Stashis, 60, of Amesbury, formerly of Topsfield, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 8 at the Hannah Duston Health Care Center in Haverhill.
Gregory was born in Danvers to Francis C. and Elizabeth (Spakas) Stashis. He was a graduate of Masconomet High School, Class of 1981, then going on to attend Massachusetts Art School in Boston, after which he studied for two years at SACI, College of Arts in Florence, Italy. Gregory was an accomplished equestrian, competing locally and regionally on Arabian horses. He worked as a chef at the Choate Bridge Pub for 26 years. He was very outgoing, vivacious and known for being “the life of the party”. Gregory was dearly loved, a devoted husband, son, brother and uncle.
Gregory is survived by his husband Darrel R. Franks-Stashis, of Amesbury. He also leaves behind his sisters Paula Yanakakis and her husband William, of Ipswich, and Deborah Stashis-Douglass and her husband Glenn, of Danvers, and nephews Christopher Yanakakis and Benjaimin Yanakakis, and Alexander Yanakakis. He was predeceased by his brother Dana Stashis.
