Howard G. Abbott III September 8, 1958 - July 12, 2021

Haverhill – Howard G. Abbott, III, 62, passed away July 12, 2021 at Holy Family Hospital in Methuen after a courageous battle with lung cancer.

Born and raised in Haverhill, he was the son of Howard G. Abbott II and Marie (Chadwick) Abbott. As an adolescent, Howard attended school within the Haverhill School System. Howard was a diesel mechanic for many years in the automotive industry. He lived most of his life in Haverhill and many years in Claremont, NH. Howard was an animal lover and always had many various pets including birds, reptiles, ferrets and dogs. In his younger years Howard enjoyed many outdoor activities including trips to the mountains and local beaches, surf casting, freshwater fishing and hunting. In his older years he was known as a homebody, he could be found talking on his phone, visiting with family, or on his computer at any time. He will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him.

Howard is survived by his children, Maryann Abbott of Haverhill; Diana Abbott of Melbourne, FL; Dalton G. Abbott Sr. of Haverhill; Lindsey Abbott of Peabody; Jason Avery of Naples, FL; ten grandchildren, Shyanne, Kayla, Jelisa, Jose, Armani, Jaylynn, Emmett, Dahlia, Grayson and Temperance; one great grandchild, Aria; Brother, Gary Brooks and his wife Kathy of Winchendon; sisters, Candida Abbott and Nilda Abbott and Nilda’s life partner Maurice Pina, of Haverhill; ex-wife Gloria Abbott; sisters in law, Sherry Abbott and Susan Abbott; several nieces, nephews and pets. He was predeceased by his grandson Dalton G. Abbott, Jr. and brothers Louis, Stephen and Dennis Abbott.
