Lawrence – James H. White, affectionately known as “Grampy”, 81, passed away November 29, 2021 at Lawrence General Hospital.
Born in Woburn, he was the son of the late Irving and Gertrude (Vino) White. He was a graduate of Wilmington High School, Class of 1958. He was employed as a manager at Commonwealth Hotel in Lawrence. James was a big fan of the Star Speedway and NASCAR. He would be seen riding his scooter all around Lawrence. A very independent and sweet man who was known to be a bit salty at times. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
James is survived by his late partner of 45 years, Alice Comeau’s children, Bonny Noonan and Scott Miller of Andover; John Kemp and Jodi McGrath of Atkinson; Robert Kemp and Liz Juliano of Lawrence; Arlene Willette and her husband James of Methuen; Harold Kemp and his wife Angel of Salem, NH; his siblings, Barbara Nickerson, Patricia Dean, Irene Doucette and Jean Boutwell; 13 grandchildren and several great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. In addition to Alice Comeau he was predeceased by his sister Shirley O’Donald and his brother Richard White.
