Haverhill – James H. Williams, 79, husband of Constance T. (Ouellette) Williams, passed away February 17, 2019 at Cedarview Nursing Home in Methuen with his loving family by his side.
Born in Haverhill, he was the son of the late Andrew and Edna (McInnis) Williams. Raised and educated in Haverhill, he was a graduate of Haverhill Trade School, Class of 1956. He was a home builder, owner of Jim Williams Builders and built homes throughout New England. James received the New England Home Builder of the Year award in 1983. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed boating on his many Boston Whalers, camping, fly fishing and hunting in Canada. James played the guitar and loved traditional country music. He traveled throughout New England to many Bluegrass festivals. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather who was loved by all who knew him and he will be dearly missed.
In addition to his loving wife Connie of over 60 years, he is survived by his children, Daniel J. Williams and his wife Karyn M. of Haverhill; Michael A. Williams and his wife Stacey L. of Methuen; four grandchildren, Lindsay Williams and her wife Kayla of Groveland; Courtney Y. Williams of Haverhill; Joshua A. Williams of Haverhill; Justine N. Williams of No. Andover; two great grandchildren, Wyatt and Chase Williams; step grandchildren, Timothy Davis, Ryan Davis and Lauren Herrin; sister, Norma Riley of Haverhill; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Catherine “Kay” Cashman; brothers, John, Richard and Robert Williams.
