James P. (Jim) Kelly, 78, of Haverhill passed away in Pembroke Pines, Florida while visiting his daughter Katie Corbett and her family over the Thanksgiving holidays.
Raised in the Acre Section of Haverhill, he was the son of the late Paul and Rita (O’Hagan) Kelly. He graduated in 1960 from Saint James High School and immediately began working at Western Electric. Jim worked continuously for the company and finished his 40 year career at Lucent Technology. He also proudly served 6 years during the Vietnam Era in the National Guard.
Jim was an avid golfer and over his lifetime was a member of Crystal Lake and Granite Fields golf clubs. His condo at Center Conway, New Hampshire was the winter destination for his young family for weekend ski trips and later became the gathering place for many annual golf outings with close friends. A life time member of the Crescent Yacht Club, Jim enjoyed spending time with fellow members.
Jim is survived by his daughter, Katie Corbett and her husband Jamie and grandsons Nathaniel, Matthew, Zachary and Jake Corbett and granddaughter Elizabeth Corbett of Pembroke Pines, Florida. He is also survived by his sons Daniel and Paul Kelly and granddaughters Jacinda, Anastasia and Emelia Kelly and grandsons Jason, William and Jackson Kelly of Haverhill. Jim is also survived by his brothers Vincent Kelly and his wife Linda (Crochetti) of Haverhill, Peter Kelly and his wife Paula (Montebianchi) of Haverhill, Daniel Kelly of San Diego of CA and their families. Jim was predeceased by his loving wife Natalie (Furnari) Kelly with whom he shared 19 years of marriage; and sister, Noreen (Kelly) Ellis and her husband Edward Ellis.
Jim was loved by everyone who knew him and will be sadly missed by all. Jim was a good guy.
Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend calling hours on Monday, December 6 from 4:00PM until 7:00PM at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main St., Haverhill. Funeral services will begin in the funeral home on Tuesday morning, December 7 at 9:30AM with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at St. James Church, Winter St., Haverhill at 10:30AM.
