Jason Douglas Picard passed away peacefully at the High Pointe Hospice house on 14 February 2023.
He was born on 25 July 1945 and raised by his loving parents Wilbur and Pauline (Cooper) Picard. He attended the Haverhill school system, graduating from Haverhill High in 1963. Following his graduation, he served two years in the Air Force and received an honorable discharge. Jason worked in the healthcare field at Lawrence General hospital for many years.
A lifelong resident of Haverhill Jason was known to many as an avid city historian. He was a valued friend and will be remembered fondly and with love.
Jason is survived by his sister Mrs. Linda (Steve) Mills of Hampstead, NH, his niece Michelle Wunderlich of Haverhill and nephew Jeffrey Mills of Glennville, GA as well as several great-nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind special friends who cared for him in his final days, Scott Lewis and Brenda LeMay.
Jason was an animal lover, in lieu of flowers donations can be made in his name to the Merrimack Valley Feline Rescue. A graveside service is planned at Linwood Cemetery in Haverhill on Wednesday March 8th. A procession to Linwood will be leaving the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral home, 486 Main St., Haverhill, MA at 1pm. Family and friends are invited to attend the service and celebrate Jason’s life.
