DANVILLE, NH – John W. Glennie, 85, husband of Viola Benjamin Glennie, passed away surrounded by family on February 16 at Elliot Hospital in Manchester, NH.

John was born on December 21, 1937 in Methuen, MA to William and Mildred (Brierly) Glennie.  He graduated from North Andover High School and then attended Merrimack College.  He served in the Air Force Reserves. He then lived in Bradford before moving to Salem, NH.

John was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He loved country music, bidding at auctions, traveling with his wife to the Caribbean & Nova Scotia. He enjoyed working in his garden and picking blueberries every season.

John is survived by his children David J. Glennie, PA, Karen E. and husband Brian Gatchell, Litchfield, NH; grandchildren Trever Glennie, Philip Gatchell and wife Eden, Jonathan Goulet and wife Daniela and children, Jeremy Goulet and wife Rachael; friend and brother-in-law Richard Cole, and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his sister Mary Cole.

Family and friends are invited to attend a calling hour from 10AM to 11AM followed by a memorial service at 11AM at Good Shepherd United Methodist Church, 471 Main St., Haverhill, MA on Saturday, March 18. Committal will follow at the Memorial Wall at Linwood Cemetery, Haverhill, MA. Arrangements are in the care of the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main Street, Haverhill.
