Haverhill – Jonathan R. Ahern, 21, of Haverhill, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, April 26.
Born in Haverhill, he was the son of Robert Ahern and Ann T. Thomson. Raised and educated in Haverhill he attended Haverhill public schools and was a graduate of Whittier Regional Vocational Technical High School, class of 2018, receiving his trade certificate in the Electrical field. He has worked as an Electrician throughout the Boston area and was a member of the I.B.E.W. Local 103. During his high school years, Jonathan was active in Whittier’s sports programs. He played nose tackle on the football team and was co-captain of the wrestling team and was an honor roll student. For many years he was involved in the local Boy Scouts Troop 27 achieving Life Scout. He had a great sense of humor and his smile lit up the room as he entered. He enjoyed playing video games with his friends and was a Patriots and Bruins fan and enjoyed fishing. He was a very respectful young man and stood up for what he felt was right and just. He also loved his dogs, Rocky and Sadie.
Jonathan was a loving son, brother , nephew, and friend and will be missed by all who knew him. He leaves his parents; Robert Ahern and Ann T. Thomson, of Haverhill, his sister, Julia Ahern, of Haverhill, his grandparents; Rita Ahern, of Hampstead, NH, Kevin and Sharon Thomson, of Jacksonville, FL, Rosemary and Dale Carver, of Klamath Falls, OR and several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his grandfather, John Ahern.
Family and friends are respectfully invited to calling hours at the West Parish Church, 767 Broadway, (Rte 97) Haverhill, MA 01832 on Tuesday, May 3 from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM.
