Haverhill – Joseph L. Gauron, 85, husband of the late Thespina L. (Barhanys) Gauron, passed away February 19, 2019.
Born in Haverhill, he was the son of the late Joseph Gauron and Margaret (Lachance) Gauron. He was raised and educated in Haverhill. Joseph worked in the plastics industry for many years, at Plastics Compounders in Haverhill and as a machine operator at Borden Chemical. He served his country honorably in the United States Navy during the Korean War. Joseph enjoyed fishing of all kinds and was a lifetime member of the Plaistow Fish and Game Club. He also enjoyed hunting all over New England, especially Vermont, with his sons. Joseph loved cooking the lamb for Easter celebrations with family and friends. Devoted to his family, he will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Joseph is survived by his children, Joseph Gauron and his wife Sallie of Haverhill; Leo Gauron and his wife Sandra of Bradford; Gloria Genna and her husband Peter of Berlin, NH; Patricia Dufresne and Steve Olney of Plaistow, NH; Cathleen Jones of Berlin, NH; many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his loving wife Thestina, he was predeceased by his siblings, Mary Goodwin, Beatrice Morse, Yvonne DiSimone, Jerome Gauron and Richard Gauron.
