LAWRENCE – Judy L. Smith, 76, of Lawrence passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 12 at the High Pointe Hospice House in Haverhill.
Judy was born in Jersey City, New Jersey the daughter of Wesley and Loretta (Tarbell) Smith. She was a graduate of Revere High School, Class of 1965, and over the years went on to work as a CNA and also as a dispatcher for local taxi companies. She was a great cook, liked to knit and crochet and cruise around on her scooter listening to her scanner. She had fun playing Bingo and electronic games and watching her favorite show Law and Order; and she enjoyed her Pepsi and cigarettes. Judy was a very kind and loving woman who loved her time spent with family.
Judy was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. She is survived by her daughter June Nowlan of Haverhill, and her sons David Nowlan of Queensbury, NJ, Michael F. Vito of No. Carolina, and William R. Nowlan of Lawrence. She also leaves behind her siblings Robert Smith of ME, Linda Wood of Lynn, MA, Jackie Harrell and her husband Jeffrey of Nashua, NH, Joyce Smith and Felix Dejesus of Puerto Rico, Loretta Smith and Kris Steadman of Swampscott, and Wesley Smith of Salem, MA; her four grandchildren Nicholas Harrell, Casey Nowlan, Carissa Nowlan, and Catrina Nowlan, and several nieces and nephews. Judy was predeceased by her brother Russell Smith.
