AMESBURY – Karlene Alice (Poor) Morecroft, 65, wife of Michael R. Morecroft, of Amesbury, passed away on Saturday, December 16, at High Point Hospice House in Haverhill.
Karlene was born in Amesbury on January 25, 1958 to Russell M. and Jeanette A. (Deth) Poor. She was a graduate of Pentucket High School, Class of 1976. A very talented crafter and seamstress, Karlene worked for Ben’s Uniforms in Amesbury and also made many gowns for weddings. She was a great cook, loved shopping and a great bargain. She will be remembered fondly as a devoted mother and grandmother.
Karlene is survived by her husband Michael R. Morecroft, East Hampstead, NH, and daughter Alicia D. Morecroft and her son James B. Chaloner, of Amesbury; sister Edith Caroline Poor, of Haverhill, and brothers Harold E. and his wife Susan (Irvine) Poor, of Merrimac, and Everett A. and his wife Pamela (Melvin) Poor, of Merrimac. She also leaves behind her mother and father in law, Beverly and Paul Hickey of Maine, sister in laws Teri Morecroft Cox of New York, Kathy Mcdonald of Texas, brother in laws, Kevin Morecroft of Amesbury, Andy Morecroft of Amesbury, James Morecroft of Haverhill; nieces and nephews Ashley James and Samantha James of Haverhill, Adin Poor, of FL, Andrew and Russell Poor, of Merrimac, and Courtney Locke, of Merrimac.
