HAVERHILL – Kathleen M. Harber, 72, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 25 at the High Pointe Hospice House in Haverhill.
Born in Winthrop on February 10, 1951 she was daughter of the late Ralph F. and Kathleen F. (Shea) Harber. Raised and educated in Dorchester, she was a graduate of Dorchester High School, Class of 1969 and then went on to study at Lowell State. After moving to San Francisco in 1978 she attended St. Mary’s College in Hayward, CA, and then moved back to the East Coast in 1992. Kathleen was an avid reader who loved her family. She was a kind soul, devoted partner to Beth and a loving mother, sister and aunt. She had an open door policy for their children and friends and had a strong influence on anyone she met.
Kathleen is survived by her daughter Joanna Rose Carey, of Newburyport. She is also survived by her brother Paul and his wife Diane Harber, of FL, and her sister Rosemary and her husband Dale Carver, of Klamath Falls, OR; brother-in-law William L. Manning and sister-in-law Norma R. Carey, both of Braintree; and grandson Joshua C. Carey, of Dorchester. She also leaves several nieces and nephews and her loving caregivers Ann Thomson and Robert Ahern. Kathleen is predeceased by her beloved partner of 50 years Beth Ann Carey, her son Benjamin C. Carey, and her sister Maureen Deacon.
